Skul`Shocker "Mike From Boston" Sadly Passed Away PDF Print E-mail

Dear Shockers,

Our long time member "Mike From Boston has sadly passed away. It has been reported to us by another past member, Pomp, that Mike had a very unexpected medical emergency that prompted his life passing. This is Pomp's forum post within our forums:

I know that Mike from Boston played SS a lot and just wanted to let you guys that sadly, he passed today at the age of 38, suddenly and unexpectedly. He was sitting home 2 nights ago when he felt a very sharp pain in his chest and legs, he was rushed to the ER to find out his aorta had busted, he started bleeding internally, which made his kidneys fail, he was not strong enough to fight for his life and this morning he passed on. His family is very poor and like all of us were struggling just to make ends meet. His friends in DM are setting up a donation link, I will post about it more as soon as I know.

He will be missed greatly in this community.

Pomp speaks a heavy truth. Mike From Boston has been playing within our Skul`Shock servers for an ectremely long time. He has been around almost since the transformation of Shell`Shock servers into Skul`Shock servers. He wasn't one for many words, but he was always eagler to play with his friends in Skul`Shock. He never said one distasteful word to others and played with a good spirit. Skul`Shock will always remember a fellow like him. He truly lived The Skul`Shock motto: Once a Shocker: Always a Shocker.

There are several places trying to help out with the costs of his funeral and other matters that require financial assistance in the untimely matter of his death. If you feel led to help out his family, please do so by following this link.  Skul`Shock's goal is to raise $1,000 US.  We may not be able to reach that amount, but we surely can try!  Any amount will surely help!

Steam Harware Survey Results PDF Print E-mail

Steam Hardware Survey: December 2009

Each month, Steam collects data about what kinds of computer hardware our customers are using. The survey is incredibly helpful for us as game developers in that it ensures that we're making good decisions about what kinds of technology investments to make. Making these survey results public also allows people to compare their own current hardware setup to that of the community as a whole.
